I grew up with two working parents in a rural area that could now be classified as a food desert. Residents in my hometown area often drive as far as 20 miles in one direction to reach the nearest grocery store.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, during the rise of processed food, meant that by the time I reached adulthood I was reliant on a diet that consisted mostly of food that came in boxes, cans, and bags.

This isn't an uncommon story. It's one that most of us, regardless of where we grew up, can probably relate to. Processed foods emerged in the 1950s, and for decades people were taught that they were a fine alternative that could save you time and money.

Our parents found convenience in it. Most of their parents did, too. Our schools served it. The ads were on our morning cartoons and came with toys! Rural areas and low-income communities have been unfairly  targeted for decades by food companies. This isn't to say that all processed food is bad or that we can never eat it. It just can't be the only thing we eat, and we have to recognize that it doesn't fuel us the way other foods can.

Being healthy isn't only for the wealthy, the fitness gurus, or the health nuts. You don't have to do yoga at 5AM or snack on bowls of kale. We all deserve to feel our best and this course will teach you how to realistically balance healthy living with everything else going on in your life.

If nutrition seems confusing

When I finally hit rock bottom ten years ago and decided to change the way I was eating, I "snuck" money from our wedding fund to pay for a nutritionist. I was exhausted, unmotivated, and was sick of feeling sick! I knew I wanted to feel better -- both physically and mentally -- before starting this new chapter of life. Working with a nutritionist was a huge investment for me at the time...but not once in the past decade have I regretted the decision to invest in myself.

Yes! Of the 400 recipes nearly half of them are already vegetarian/vegan, and most of them are easily adaptable. All but *two* recipes of the 400 are entirely gluten-free!

You have full access to all the recipes during the 20 days, and then for one week after! You’re welcome to download any recipes you loved, and you’ll get an email to remind you to do that before your access ends. I will also create an eBook for you to organize our group's favorite recipes + other helpful info. Prescribe Nutrition has a monthly subscription service as well as independent nutrition coaching if you decide to continue on after the 20-day course!

No! This is a course. Look at it as going back to school for 20 days to learn information and skills that will help guide you for a lifetime. Don’t go into it with the mindset that it is a 20-day challenge or “diet”. We will not discuss weight loss and the group will be monitored to ensure conversation does not focus on size/weight. The goal is to teach you how to make healthy, whole-food meals and how to realistically find that healthy balance in your life!

Prescribe 20 will help you replace less-beneficial foods with ones that are more beneficial for your overall health and full of nutrients. All of the recipes are free of gluten, dairy, and processed sugar. It is encouraged that you avoid alcohol during the program, but it's up to you! We won't be counting calories or limiting ourselves and there's no "punishment" for having these foods, the focus is just on eating whole, healthy foods and giving your an opportunity to see how you feel without these foods or having less of them.

Some members of the PN team have experience dealing with EDs, but no one on our team specializes in ED recovery. We'd encourage you to talk with your doctor and are happy to answer questions to determine if this is a good fit for you. Generally food-focused programs can be a trigger and it might be best to avoid.

With my discount the cost of the course is $144, that makes it $7.20 per day during the 20-day program! That gives you direct access to me as well as an entire team of nutritionists to help you learn about nutrition, as well as group accountability to help you get started. If you come out of the program and start eating 100% healthy and whole meals, that'd be amazing, but even if you come out of it with 10-20 new recipes that you love, which means that you eat 2 or 3 healthier meals each week moving forward, that can translate to a huge impact on your lifelong health and overall energy. It might help you avoid one minor or major illness, or noticeably increase your productivity or creativity. What I'm saying is --- it's a tremendous value for the experience and the support you receive, and will likely pay for itself pretty quickly. Investing in your own health is one of the best investments you can make.

There is one video and some reading material each week that will take you about 10-20 minutes to absorb. How much time you spend interacting in the private group is really up to you! Aside from that, you'll need to meal plan and grocery shop as you normally do --- and cook! Most meals take less than 30 minutes to prepare and you can batch cook for the week if you prefer. We also encourage planning for  leftovers to save time. On average students probably spend about 1 hour per week learning/interacting/planning, and around 30 minutes per day prepping/cooking. 

Yes! Nutrition and hydration are so important in this season of life and play an important role in fertility, fetal development, healthy labor, and breastfeeding! Christina from the PN Team  just had her 2nd baby and can speak directly to new parents about their nutrition. Their team will be happy to work with you to customize the program if needed.
