Sunday mornings are sacred at our house. There’s usually ample snuggle time with Walter, CBS Sunday Morning and one of three breakfast items: breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, or breakfast pizza. My mister has been on a real streak of whipping up great breakfasts, but this weekend we teamed up to create this breakfast pizza.
INGREDIENTS
Dough –
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tsp white sugar
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 cups bread flour
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Mrs. Dash garlic and herb salt free seasoning
Spray oil or crisco
Toppings –
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
4 eggs, scrambled
4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
3 fresno peppers, finely sliced
Spicy Garlic Cream Sauce –
3 tbsp cream cheese (sub plain greek yogurt for a healthier option)
1 tbsp half and half
1 tsp sriracha suace
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp chopped chives
Prepare your dough by mixing the sugar, dry yeast and warm water in a bowl and letting it sit until creamy (5-10 minutes). Next add the flour, salt and oil and mix until it forms a dough. Turn the dough out on a floured surface and roll into a circle or square. Lightly grease a large pan with spray oil or crisco, and sprinkle with Mrs Dash garlic and herb salt free seasoning (this helps create the perfect crust). Place the pizza dough on the pan and add toppings. The fresno peppers are what provide the “heat” in the pizza so add more or less based on your preferences. Bake 15-20 minutes in a 450 degree oven.
Serve with a Spicy Garlic Cream Sauce (combine all ingredients until smooth).
